Germany, Kriegsmarine. A High Seas Fleet Badge by Schwerin

(Flottenkriegsabzeichen). An oval badge constructed of gilded and silvered tombac, the obverse depicts frontal battleship cutting through waves, within an oak leaf wreath, topped by Kriegsmarine-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika (swastika filed off), reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical banjo-style pinback, marked with designer Adolf Bock and manufacturer Schwerin, Berlin, measuring 43.94 mm (w) x 56.99 mm (h), weighing 33.5 grams, the obverse swastika has been removed and the reverse catch is missing, otherwise in very fine condition.
