Germany, Third Reich. A Gold Grade Equestrian Badge by L. Christian Lauer

(Pferdesport Leistungsabzeichen in Gold). Constructed of gilt bronze, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath joined at the bottom with a horseshoe inscribed with a raised “R”, with a central mounted horse, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, maker marked “L. CHRISTIAN LAUER, NÜRNBERG”, measuring 42.08 mm (w) x 52.02 mm (h), weighing 16.0 grams, in near extremely fine condition.
