George V. Two-piece construction, insignia in frosted silver with blue enamels, mounted to a silvered bronze star base, engraved "ROBt. M. HOLESWORTH. / OCT. 1865 TO NOV. 20th 1917" on the reverse, measuring 56.5 mm (w) x 62.5 mm (h), original ribbon with pinback, maker marked "ELKINGTON 22 REGENT St. S.W" on the pinback, scattered frosted silvering wear on the insignia, near extremely fine. In its hardshelled case of issue, marked "IMPERIAL SERVICE MEDAL" in gold-coloured ink on the lid, maker marked "ELKINGTON LONDON" on the inside lid, recessed medal bed, scuffing and wear evident on the exterior, case near very fine.
