Prussia, State. A Napoleonic War Merit Medal for 1814

(Kriegsdenkmünze). A round bronze medal, the obverse centre presenting an Iron Cross with rays between the arms, with the date 1814 at the centre, bordered by a wreath of laurels and oak leaves, the reverse shows the crowned monogram FW, with the inscription PREUßENS TAPFERN KRIEGERN (PRUSSIA’S BRAVE WARRIORS), bordered by the inscription GOTT WAR MIT UNS, IHM SEY DIE EHRE, the rim presents the engraving AUS EROBERTEM GESCHÜTZ, measuring 29.00 mm in diameter, and in near very fine condition.
