Germany, Heer. A Panzer Assault Badge, Silver Grade, by Karl Wurster

(Panzerkampfazbeichen). Constructed of silvered zink, consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath topped by a Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, with a Panzerkampfwagen IV superimposed in the centre on grassy ground, with its left tank track extending over the edge of the badge, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, maker marked with the logo of Karl Wurster, Markneukirchen, measuring 41.36 mm (w) x 60.39 mm (h), weighing 36.0 grams, in very fine condition.
