Constructed of silver, the obverse with a leftward-facing profile of Prince Regent Luitpold circumscribed by name and title, the reverse with a richly-detailed depiction of Bavarian cavalry on parade, topped by an inscription of “DER SCHÜTZENBUND MÜNCHEN” (“THE SHOOTING LEAGUE OF MUNICH”) and above an inscription of “ZUR ERINNERUNG AN DIE RUHMVOLEN TAGE 1870/71” (“IN MEMORY OF THE GLORIOUS DAYS OF 1870/71”), the reverse maker marked “LAUER”, the edge with a silver content number of “990” with a crescent and crown indicating German manufacture, measuring 42.49 mm in diameter, weighing 28.4 grams, in extremely fine condition.
