Baden, Duchy. A First War Cross for Voluntary War Aid

(Kreuz für freiwillige Kriegshilfe 1914 mit Eichenkranz). Constructed of gilded bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée, with a central Geneva Cross, the three and nine o’clock arms with dates “1914-1916”, the six o’clock arm with a Baden coat of arms, the twelve o’clock arm with a royal crown, the reverse with a central monogram of Friedrich II, unmarked, measuring 39.35 mm (w) x 43.45 mm (h), weighing 19.8 grams, in extremely fine condition.
