Russia, Soviet Union. A Veteran's Group of Four Armed Forces Jubilee Medals

Jubilee Medal for 40 Years of the Armed Forces of the USSR 1918-1958 (in brass, measuring 32 mm in diameter); Jubilee Medal for 50 Years of the Armed Forces of the USSR 1918-1968 (in brass with red enamels, measuring 37 mm in diameter); Jubilee Medal for 60 Years of the Armed Forces of the USSR 1918-1978 (in brass, measuring 32 mm in diameter); and Jubilee Medal for 70 Years of the Armed Forces of the USSR 1918-1988 (in brass, measuring 32 mm in diameter). Each medal with its original ribbon, mounted to a five-sided aluminum suspension, conjoined, with pinback. Discolouration evident on the reverse of the 70 Years medal, light contact, very fine.

Footnote: The Jubilee Medal for 40 Years of the Armed Forces of the USSR 1918-1958 was instituted on December 18, 1957 and awarded to all personnel serving on February 23, 1958 in the armed forces, MVD and KGB. The Jubilee Medal for 50 Years of the Armed Forces of the USSR 1918-1968 was instituted on December 26, 1967 and awarded to all personnel (except conscripts) serving in the armed forces, MVD or KGB on February 23, 1968, as well as students at military academies and recipients of specified bravery awards. The Jubilee Medal for 60 Years of the Armed Forces of the USSR 1918-1978 was instituted on January 28, 1978 and awarded to all personnel (except conscripts) serving in the armed forces, MVD or KGB on February 23, 1978 and holders of specified bravery awards. The Jubilee Medal for 70 Years of the Armed Forces of the USSR 1918-1988 was instituted on January 28, 1988 and awarded to all personnel (except conscripts) serving on February 23, 1988 in the armed forces, MVD & KGB, plus recipients of specified gallantry awards.
