Austria, Imperial. A Sovereign Order of the Knights of Malta 1916, Merit Cross

In silver gilt with red and white enamels, illegible hallmark on the ring, measuring 39.5 mm (w) x 43 mm (h) inclusive of its ring suspension, intact enamels, original triangular ribbon with hook and eye, extremely fine. In its hardshelled case of issue, gilt Maltese cross on the lid, marked "B" on the bottom, maroon felt recessed medal bed, extensive wear and scuffing on the exterior, case fair.
