Item #G40993

$50
The regulations stated are an addendum for the rules about the courts of honour for officers in the Prussian army. The initial set of regulations is from May 2nd, 1874, while this addendum is dated to January 1, 1897, issued by Emperor Wilhelm II. It is meant to address the problem of officers quarreling among each other, often about private matters that could easily be avoided. Wilhelm states that his officers should be able to reconcile their differences without insulting each other’s honour. The new regulations state how the so called courts of honour (Ehrengerichte) are supposed to be the mediators in these quarrels, the way they are supposed to function, and the rights and duties of the officers concerning the courts of honour. 8 pages, measuring 209x330mm, very fine condition with light scuffing and two folding creases.
