Constructed of aluminum, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a round oak leaf wreath, the obverse with a central mobile swastika circumscribed by an inscription of “FÜR VERDIENSTE IM LUFTSCHUTZ” (“FOR MERIT IN AIR PROTECTION”), the reverse with a central date of “1938”, unmarked, measuring 38.74 mm (w) x 43.90 mm (h), weighing 12.4 grams (inclusive of ribbon), in near extremely fine condition.
