Austria-Hungary, Imperial. A Two Years in the Field Cap Badge

(Kappenabzeichen). A vertical rectangular badge in silver and black finish, the obverse centre depicts the initials FJI within a circular wreath, below a double-crown emblem, with a column on either side, the top of the badge bears the inscription ZWEI JAHRE (TWO YEARS) and the base IM FELD 1914-1916 (IN THE FIELD 1914-1916), the reverse presents a manufacturer's inscription for KRIEGSMINISTERIUM & KRIEGSFÜRSORGEAMT, Wien, on a vertical pinback, measuring 26.68 mm (w) x 30.87 mm (h), and in very fine condition.
