(SS Papier). A group of four identity documents belonging to SS-Obersturmführer Fritz Schumacher. It includes an award certificate for a SA Sports Badge in Bronze, dated 26 September 1935. Part of SA Group IV, Schumacher’s award is numbered “403708”. It includes a black-and-white photograph of the recipient pasted to the obverse, and measures 91 mm (w) x 89 mm (h). Minor soiling is evident, but it is in an otherwise near extremely fine condition.
A promotion document, dated 9 November 1935 and issued 19 November 1937, elevating Schumacher to the rank of SS-Untersturmführer. The obverse features a black-and-white photograph of the recipient. The reverse bears the signature of Reichsführer-SS Heinrich Himmler. Measuring 90 mm (w) x 120 mm (h). Minor soiling is evident, but it is in an otherwise near extremely fine condition.
A promotion document, dated 20 April 1944 and issued 25 April of the same year, elevating Schumacher to the rank of Obersturmführer. The obverse features a black-and-white photograph of the recipient. The reverse bears the signatures of Reichsführer-SS Heinrich Himmler and Obersturmbannführer Pergalius Herz. The obverse also bears a black inscription of “Berechtigt zum Tragen einer Faustfeuerwaffe” (“Entitlted to carry a handgun”). Measuring 90 mm (w) x 120 mm (h). In extremely fine condition.
A NSDAP membership identification booklet, constructed of a red card stock shell, the obverse of which features a gold embossed NSDAP-style German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika. The interior with 47 pages featuring standard contents, including a speech by the Führer, the names of the martyrs of the Beer Hall Putsch, and stamps confirming Schumacher was up-to-date with NSDAP membership dues through 1945. Page 16 features a pasted award certified confirming that Schumacher received a NSDAP Long Service Medal in Bronze in Goslar on 20 April 1941. Booklet issued 17 November 1938. Measuring 105 mm (w) x 135 mm (h). Minor material fatigue is evident, but it is in an otherwise near extremely fine condition.
Footnote: Fritz Schumacher was born on 16 May 1895 in Vienenburg, Saxony. He held NSDAP membership number “378696” and SS membership number “9464”. His last recorded SS unit was the 49th SS-Standarte, based in Braunschweig.
