Saxony, Kingdom. A 1914 General Medal of Merit, Bronze Grade, with Sword Clasp

(Allgemeines Ehrenzeichen in Bronze Dem Verdienste 1914 mit Schwerterspange). Constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon with sword clasp, the obverse with a leftward-facing profile of Wilhelm Ernst circumscribed by name and title, the reverse with a central inscription of “DEM VERDIENSTE 1914” inside of an oak leaf wreath, unmarked, measuring 36.19 mm in diameter, the sword clasp measuring 43.36 mm (w) x 18.17 mm (h), weighing 24.4 grams (inclusive of ribbon), in better than very fine condition.
