Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Grand Duchy. A Military Merit Cross

(Militärverdienstkreuz). A gilded bronze cross pattée, the obverse centre presents the initials FF for Friedrich Franz, with the imperial crown on the twelve o’clock arm, the date 1870 on the six o’clock arm, the reverse presents the inscription FÜR AUSZEICHNUNG IM KRIEG (FOR AWARD IN THE WAR), measuring 40.49 mm (w) x 40.35 mm (h), on loop for suspension from period original non-combatant ribbon, and in near very fine condition.
