Includes: forty-two regimental insignia badges (all are fabricated from bronze, thirty-one are gilt, eleven are silvered, in various colors of enamels, with various maker marks, in various sizes, eight with vertical pinbacks, one with a horizontal pinback, eight with a screwback, twenty-two with dual push pins, two with push pin points, one missing its screwback, the Seabees badge pinned to a prescription pad sheet marked "ALBERT F. GOODWIN, M.D. / 31 KINGSBORO AVE. / GLOVERSVILLE, N. Y.", with a note in black ink on the sheet, all with intact enamels); a United States Military Academy West Point Cap Badge (in bronze gilt, measuring 46.8 mm (w) x 45.5 mm (h), screwback); and an Infantry Company "M" Collar Disk (two-piece construction, in bronze gilt, measuring 26.7 mm in diameter, screwback). Ranging from very fine to extremely fine.

 

This offering is a part of the "Dr. Albert Goodwin Collection", a preeminent assemblage of world Orders, Medals, and Decorations composed solely by Dr.Goodwin between 1946-1967. Dr. Goodwin had a successful career as an educator and prominent physician in New York as well as actively serving in both World Wars with the United States Medical Corps. He acted as both President and Vice-President of the Orders and Medals Society of America (OMSA) and is responsible for organizing their first convention in 1960. He maintained further membership with the American Society of Military Collectors, the International Orders Research Society, and the American Numismatic Society.
