Germany, Wehrmacht. A Wound Badge, Gold Grade

(Verwundetenabzeichen in Gold). Constructed of gilded bronze, the obverse consisting of a laurel wreath, with a central Stahlhelm bearing a mobile swastika, on top of crossed swords on a pebbled field, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked, measuring 38.16 mm (w) x 43.14 mm (h), weighing 10.2 grams, in very fine condition.
