Germany, Imperial. A Wound Badge, Gold Grade

(Verwundetenabzeichen in Gold). Constructed of gilded magnetic metal, the obverse depicts a Stahlhelm (Steel Helmet) on top of crossed swords on a pebbled field with laurel branch wreath, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, measuring 38.42 mm (w) x 42.26 mm (h), weighing 11.5 grams, in extremely fine condition.
