Germany, Luftwaffe. A Short Range Day Fighter Clasp, Silver Grade, by Gustav Hermann Osang

(Frontflugspange für Jagdverbände). Constructed of silvered and patinated zink, the obverse consisting of a central winged arrow, inside of a laurel wreath with a swastika at the bottom, flanked on each side by nine richly-detailed oak leaves, the reverse with a barrel hinge and banjo-style pinback meeting a flat wire catch, maker marked “G.H. OSANG, DRESDEN”, measuring 77.01 mm (w) x 26.15 mm (h), weighing 17.6 grams, evidence of repair to the catch rendering the pinback non-functional, in otherwise better than very fine condition.
