Hesse-Darmstadt, Grand Duchy. A General Honour Decoration for Bravery with Miniature

(Allgemeines Ehrenzeichen für Tapferkeit mit Miniatur). Constructed of silver, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse with a leftward-facing profile of Ernst Ludwig circumscribed by name and title, the reverse with a central inscription of “FÜR TAPFERKEIT” inside of a laurel and oak leaf wreath, unmarked, measuring 33.33 mm in diameter, weighing 14.9 grams, accompanied by its period original miniature, constructed of silvered bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, of identical appearance, measuring 15.67 mm in diameter, in better than very fine condition.
