A silver Maltese cross, with red enamelled arms bordered in white enamel, with silver monograms of Charles I between the cross’s arms, the obverse centre bears a crown on a red enamelled background, circled by the legend PRIN NOI ÎNŞINE (BY OURSELVES) and the date 14.MARTIE 1881, the reverse centre presents the date 10.MAIU on red enamel, surrounded by a ring of white enamel bearing the dates 1866 1877 and 1881, hallmarked on integral ring with leopard’s head facing left and the letter A and number 4 to denote .800 silver content, small articles, from 1872 to 1922, maker marked with initials R F for Rozet & Fischmeister of Vienna, also stamped with letter A on bottom of flat loop and on integral ring, measuring 60.77 mm (w) x 60.67 mm (h), weighing 43.8 grams, showing heavy loss of gilt, on loop for suspension from period original neck ribbon, and in extremely fine condition.
