(Medaille Commemorative de la Guerre 1870-1871). Instituted in 1911. In bronze, engraver marked "GEORGES LEMAIRE" on the obverse, measuring 30 mm in diameter, original ribbon, extremely fine.

Footnote: The Franco-Prussian War Commemorative Medal was instituted in November 1911 and awarded to those for service in the Franco-Prussian War, July 1870 to February 1871. The medal was awarded to participants who held the combatants certificate, of which it is believed 150,000 existed.
