Spain, Kingdom. A Royal & Military Order of St. Hermenegildo, Knight, c.1975

(Real y Militar Orden de San Hermenegildo). Instituted in 1814. King Juan Carlos I (1975-2014). In bronze gilt with white, light blue and dark blue enamels, measuring 37.5 mm (w) x 54.8 mm (h) inclusive of its crown suspension, intact enamels, the obverse centrepiece slightly loose, original ribbon, on a traditional Spanish-style horizontal hanger with pinback, extremely fine.

Footnote: The Royal and Military Order of St Hermenegildo was instituted on November 28, 1814 and awarded to all ranks of the armed forces and civil guard for faithful service, in four grades: Grand Cross, Star, Commander and Knight.
