Multi-piece construction, in silver and gilt aluminum with red, white, green and black enamels, the voided centre in light brown leather, obverse illustrating a knight's helmet with the grill voided and exhibiting red enamelling inside, the helmet surmounting the shields of the Austrian Empire and the Kingdom of Hungary, with a trophy-of-arms below the two shields, the icons framed within a beaded border, with three copper rings on the framed border, one at the top at either corner, each with a white cord attached, and one at the bottom tip, the badge itself incorporating an ornate floral border, reverse with a rectangular booklet pasted in place, its cover in light green cotton and inscribed "Garnison Grosswardein / 19 24/II. 00. / Nagyváradihelyőrség" (Grosswardein Garrison/Oradea Garrison, February 24, 1900) in gold-coloured ink, the booklet containing four pages and inscribed "Vor der Ruhe: 1. Walzer 2. Polka mazur 3. Quadrille I. 4. Csárdás 5. Polka française 6. Walzer 7. Quadrille II. (Cotillon) / Nach der Ruhe: Szűnet után: 1. Souper csárdás 2. Walzer 3. Quadrille III. 4. Csárdás 5. Polka française 6. Polka mazur 7. Walzer 8. Polka schnell" within the pages of the booklet and marked "J. MORZSÁNYI Prachtalbum-Erzeuger BUDAPEST KIGYÓ-UTCZA 8." on its inside back cover, the booklet resting upon a light green fur-like lining with a white cotton base, measuring 72.3 mm (w) x 87 mm (h), intact enamels, light soiling on the cover of the booklet, near extremely fine.
