A garrison cap (also known as a board cap) constructed of white cotton, with fold-down sides and back panels with gently sloping, downward scallops towards the front, the centre of the cap features a national eagle with outstretched-wings, clutching a wreathed swastika, woven in light-blue threads on a white cotton backing, measuring 68 mm (w) x 28 mm (h), directly below is a tri-colour cockade on a navy blue backer, measuring 32 mm (w) x 36 mm (h), the interior is lined with a light brown cotton liner, with a stamp of the size 66, with an illegible maker marked stamp in blue ink, measuring 26 cm (w) x 10.5 cm (h) (folded), showing mild soling, and in overall extremely fine condition.
