Germany, RAD. A Reich Labour Service Streifendienst Gorget

(Gorget). A half-moon gorget constructed of brightly polished aluminum with a raised perimeter rim, the obverse centre presents a stamped centre-piece consisting of the RAD shovel encircled by wheat sheaves and superimposed on a mobile swastika, above the emblem is a furled banner bearing the title STREIFENDIENST (PATROL DUTY), the reverse presents an olive-drab wool backing, the gorget is suspended from an aluminum chain consisting of interconnected single oval and smaller double oval links in a dull finish, measuring 180 mm (w) x 90 mm, and near mint.

Footnote: RAD members only wore the Streifendienst gorget when performing street patrol duties in connection with RAD functions.
