Venezuela, Republic. A Cross of the Venezuelan Army, II Class Case

(Cruz del Ejército Venezolano). Hardshelled design on both the lid and base, the exterior with a bright yellow dimpled fabric covering on all sides, the lid bearing the Venezuelan Army insignia, inscribed "CONDECORACION / CRUZ DEL EJERCITO VENEZOLANO" above and "SEGUNDA CLASE" below in red ink, inside lid lined in white satin, padded and maker marked "Distintivos Venezolanos", a white cotton strap supporting the lid when opened, a white cardboard insert placed within the base and housing a yellow felt medal bed, with a large recessed bed at the back for the Cross and a raised platform at the front with recessed beds for the Miniature and Ribbon Bar and a slot for the Rosette, designed without a secure closure, measuring 125 mm (w) x 193 mm (h) x 36 mm (d), very light soiling evident on the exterior and interior, near extremely fine.
