Germany, Wehrmacht. An Eastern Front Medal

(Medaille „Winterschlacht im Osten 1941/42“). Constructed of zink, on loop for suspension, the obverse with a central Heer-style eagle clutching a swastika, the reverse with an inscription of “WINTERSCHLACHT IM OSTEN 1941/42” (“WINTER BATTLE IN THE EAST 1941/42”), topped by a Stahlhelm and stick grenade, unmarked, measuring 36.02 mm (w) x 44.27 mm (h), weighing 17.9 grams, in better than very fine condition.
