Constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Maltese Cross with pebbled arms, the obverse with a central wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse with a central wreathed date of “1939”, unmarked, measuring 48.17 mm (w) x 49.50 mm (h), weighing 18.0 grams, accompanied by its period original pocket of issue, constructed of light brown paper stock, the obverse with an inscription of “KRIEGSVERDIENSTKREUZ 2. KLASSE OHNE SCHWERTER” (“WAR MERIT CROSS II CLASS WITHOUT SWORDS”), the reverse with a maker’s mark of “FRIEDRICH ORTH, WIEN”, measuring 105 mm (w) x 130 mm (h), in near extremely fine condition.
