Constructed of Gold with enamels, consisting of a Cross Pattée with a Gold frame and white enameled arms, the obverse centerpiece with a finely-detailed, hand-painted Prussian imperial eagle on a white enameled medallion, the reverse with a gilt monogram of Kaiser Friedrich Wilhelm II on an analogous white enameled medallion, the twelve o’clock arm with Gold crossed swords demonstrating evidence of later addition, with a Gold suspension loop, the centerpiece with a maker’s mark of “H. & S.” for the firm of Humbert & Sohn, Berlin, measuring 60.06 mm (w) x 73.45 mm (h), weighing 46.8 grams, accompanied by its period original sash ribbon, measuring 850 mm in length, minor flecking of enamels evident to the cross, in overall extremely fine condition.
