Venezuela, Republic. An Order of the Liberator, II Class Grand Officer Badge

(Orden del Libertador). Instituted in 1880. In silver gilt with blue enamels, measuring 48.7 mm (w) x 59.5 mm (h) inclusive of its laterally-pierced ball suspension, chipping and crazing evident in the blue enamels on the obverse oval centrepiece ring, better than very fine.

Footnote: The Order of the Liberator was instituted on September 14, 1880 and awarded for meritorious services to the country and the community. It comes in six grades: Collar, Grand Cordon, Grand Officer, Commander, Officer and Knight.
