(Ordem Nacional do Cruzeiro do Sul, Cavaleiro da Classe V). Instituted in 1822, re-established in 1932. Type III (1932-on). In silver gilt with white, red, light green, dark green, light blue and dark blue enamels, measuring 41 mm (w) x 41 mm (h) inclusive of its integral suspension, tiny chip evident in the white enamels and bent ball finial on the upper tip of the arm at 2 o'clock on the obverse, lightly soiled original ribbon with pinback, near extremely fine.

It was established as the National Order of the Southern Cross as part of the Federative Republic of Brazil on December 5, 1932, awarded to foreigners for diplomatic, military or other services to Brazil, in five grades: Grand Cross, Grand Officer, Commander, Officer and Knight.
