Prussia, Kingdom. An Order of Louise, I Class Badge, II Division, by Godet
(Luisen-Orden I. Klasse). Instituted 3 August 1914 by Friedrich Wilhelm III. (1866-1918 issue). In silver with enamels, consisting of a Cross Pattée with black enameled arms, the obverse with a blue enameled medallion bearing a silver monogram of Queen Louise, the reverse with an analogous medallion bearing a silver date of “1865”, the twelve o’clock arm with an integral loop and suspension ring connecting to a period original bowtie ribbon, the suspension ring with a maker’s mark of “GODET” for the Berlin-based firm of J. Godet & Sohn, with a silver content mark fo “938”, measuring 32.85 mm (w) x 36.68 mm (h), weighing 14.7 grams in near extremely fine condition.
