Austria, Imperial. A Miniature Decoration for Services to the Red Cross, II Class with War Decoration

(Ehrenzeichen für Verdienste um das Rote Kreuz, II. Klasse mit Kriegsdekoration Miniatur). Constructed of silver with multi-coloured enamels, consisting of a Latin Cross with red and white enameled arms, the obverse with a central applique in the form of a red enameled Geneva Cross on a white enameled background, surrounded by a ring of ren enamel with an inscription of “PATRIAE ET HUMANITATI” (“COUNTRY AND HUMANITY”), overlaid by a green enameled laurel and oak leaf wreath, the reverse with a central dates “1864-1914” on a white enameled background, surrounded by a ring of red enamel, the twelve o’clock arm with an integral loop connecting to a period original ribbon, with a black metal button inscribed “HEERESAUSRÜSTUNG” (“ARMY EQUIPMENT”), measuring 17.03 mm (w) x 23.63 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
