Saxe-Altenburg, Duchy. A Bravery Medal, Bronze Grade, c.1915

(Taperkeitsmedaille in Bronze). Instituted 20 February 1915 by Duke Ernst II. (1915-1918 issue). Constructed of bronzed zink, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse with a raised Cross Pattée bearing a central Saxe-Altenburg coat of arms, flanked by a date of “1914”, topped by a royal crown, the reverse with a monogram of Ernst II, unmarked, measuring 31.00 mm in diameter, weighing 13.1 grams (inclusive of ribbon), in better than very fine condition.
