Balsa wood frame on both the lid and base, exterior with a black lacquer finish, gilt characters on the lid, inside lid lined in red satin and padded, raised platform with a recessed medal bed in red velvet, latch closure, measuring 91 mm (w) x 151 mm (h) x 29 mm (d), repaired back panel and hinge, wear and scuffing evident in the black lacquer finish, soiling present in the medal bed, fair.
