A very rare eight-rayed sun in bronze gilt, composing of clusters of five enameled rays with the colors of the China Republic in each arm, superimposed by another small eight-rayed sun in bronze-gilt, the obverse centre displaying a hand-made lion's head with Chinese characters on its tongue with crossed cannon and rifle below also in enamels, with plain reverse, suspended by an enameled green leaf, measuring 63.65 mm (w) x 74.29 mm (h - inclusive of the integral ring), presenting toned bronze and light contact, accompanied by period original breast ribbon, very fine.
