Constructed of silver, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée, the obverse with a central Oldenburg lion rampant, the arms bearing an inscription of “FÜR VERDIENST UND TREUE” (“FOR MERIT AND LOYALTY”), the reverse arms with an identical inscription, with a centerpiece bearing the monogram of Friedrich Wilhelm, unmarked, measuring 41.42 mm (w) x 45.12 mm (h), weighing 15.7 grams (inclusive of ribbon), a restrike in extremely fine condition.
