Baden, Grand Duchy. A General Cross for Women to Luise Hofsäfs, c.1900

(Allgemeines Kreuz für weibliche Personen). Instituted 1883 by Grand Duchess Luise. (1883-1915 issue). Constructed of silver, on loop for suspension, consisting of a Latin Cross, the obverse with ribbed arms, the reverse with an etched name of “LUISE HOFSÄFS”, the suspension loop with a silver content number of “800”, measuring 49.80 mm (w) x 73.68 mm (h), weighing 18.4 grams, in extremely fine condition.
