(Heer Gürtel). This is a very well-preserved Second War period Heer (Army) EM/NCO’s belt and buckle. The belt is constructed of blackened leather with an additional leather strap stitched onto the reverse bearing eight arrangements of dual eyelets for adjustability. The name “P. Mersch” has been etched into the interior of the belt, which is otherwise unmarked, measures 45 mm (w) x 940 mm (l), and is in better than very fine condition. The buckle is constructed of magnetic metal, with the obverse depicting a raised Wehrmacht-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, circumscribed by oak leaves and the Wehrmacht motto of “GOTT MIT UNS” (“GOD WITH US”). The buckle is marked on the reverse with “GB” for maker Gustav Brehmer, Markneukirchen, and measures 63 mm (w) 47 mm (h). Minor tarnishing is evident but the buckle is in an otherwise very fine condition.
