Oldenburg, Grand Duchy. A Friedrich August Cross I Class

(Friedrich August Kreuz I. Klasse). Instituted 24 September 1914 by Grand Duke Friedrich August. (1914-1918 issue). Constructed of magnetic blackened iron, consisting of a Cross Pattée, the obverse with a central monogram of Grand Duke Friedrich August, the six o’clock arm with an institution date of “1914”, the twelve o’clock arm with a royal crown, with a laurel wreath through the quadrants, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback, unmarked, measuring 45.54 mm (w) x 45.64 mm (h), missing its catch, in overall very fine condition.
