Germany, Wehrmacht. A Black Grade Wound Badge by Steinhauer & Lück

(Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz). Constructed of blackened magnetic metal, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel wreath with a central Stahlhelm overlaid by a mobile swastika, on top of crossed swords on a pebbled field, the reverse with a vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, unmarked, measuring 37.38 mm (w) x 44.77 mm (h), weighing 12.5 grams, accompanied by its period original package of issue, constructed of light brown paper stock, the obverse with an inscription of “VERWUNDETENABZEICHEN SCHWARZ”, the reverse with a maker’s mark of “STEINHAUER & LÜCK, LÜDENSCHEID”, measuring 60 mm (w) x 105 mm (h), in near extremely fine condition.
