Constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée, the obverse with a central Hohenzollern eagle above a ship, the arms with an inscription of “ALSEN 29. JUNI 1864”, the reverse with a central leftward-facing profile of King Wilhelm I, circumscribed by name and title, with a laurel wreath through the quadrants, unmarked, measuring 32.47 mm (w) x 38.23 mm (h), weighing 13.5 grams (inclusive of ribbon), in near extremely fine condition.
