A Hanseatic Cross constructed of silver-plated bronze and red enamels, the obverse depicts the Hamburg Coat of Arms in a central medallion, the reverse bears the inscription Für Verdienst im Kriege 1914 (For Merit in the 1914 War), on loop for suspension from a ribbon with two red stripes on a white background, measures 40.90 mm (w) x 44.93 mm (h), and in near extremely fine condition.
