In cupro-nickel, measuring 36 mm in diameter, very light contact on the reverse, original ribbon with pinback, extremely fine. In its hardshelled case of issue, marked "P.O.W. MEDAL" on the lid, white satin inside lid, black felt recessed medal bed, case also extremely fine.

Footnote: This award, proposed by the National Ex-Prisoners of War Association is applicable to any former PoWs whose countries were allies of Britain at the time of their capture, irrespective of whether the United Kingdom was itself involved in the conflict.
