Germany, Wehrmacht. A M31 Canteen and Cup by Heuel, Peter, Sägewerk

(Feldflasche M31 und Trinkbecher). A Wehrmacht M31 canteen, constructed of aluminum with a screw-threaded neck, indented on one side for gripping, marked on the neck with maker code “CFL41” for Heuel, Peter, Sägewerk, Olpa, measuring 140 mm (w) x 210 mm (h), accompanied by an olive-drab wool cover, featuring an adjustable black leather strap with a magnetic metal buckle, with a functional magnetic metal spring clip for uniform attachment, one end of the strap bearing a black bakelite screw cap meeting the threaded neck on the canteen, the strap also secures in place a separate black bakelite cup, maker marked on the bottom “gfc” for Julius Posselt, Gablonz an der Neiße, with a date of “1944”, the cover opens with an arrangement of four functional magnetic metal snap buttons, in overall near extremely fine condition.
