Constructed of gilded zink, the obverse with a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a mobile swastika above a bayonet and stick grenade, with sun rays emanating from the centre of the left and right sides, and with four oak leaves and two acorns on each side, the reverse with a barrel hinge and banjo-style pinback meeting a flat wire catch, with a magnetic metal centerpiece backer, unmarked but with the physical characteristics of manufacture by Deschler & Sohn, München, measuring 97.00 mm (w) x 26.24 mm (h), weighing 28.7 grams, most of the gilt finish has been lost, in overall near extremely fine condition.
