A group of personal effects of Signalobergefreiten Georg Knittel, born 12 June 1923 in Memmingen, including a Soldbuch, consisting of 38 pages of personal information, issued on 12 February 1942, measuring 104 mm (w) x 145 mm (h), missing its reverse cover and with significant material fatigue evident, in near very fine condition; an award certificate for a Minesweeper War Badge, dated 3 June 1944 and signed by Vice Admiral Helmuth Brinkmann, measuring 150 mm (w) x 218 mm (h), in very fine condition; a group of six photographs, including one depicting Knittel in uniform, unmarked, measuring 64 mm (w) x 92 mm (h); one depicting a roll call, unmarked, measuring 66 mm (w) x 54 mm (h); one depicting a speech by an officer, the reverse with a handwritten inscription, measuring 55 mm (w) x 68 mm (h); one depicting a parade in summer uniforms, unmarked, measuring 66 mm (w) x 53 mm (h); one depicting a group of EM/NCOs with an officer, dated “1941”, measuring 92 mm (w) x 62 mm (h), and; one depicting a group of EM/NCOs, the reverse with a date of “12 June 1942”, measuring 95 mm (w) x 63 mm (h), all in extremely fine condition, and; an award certificate for a Bavarian Honour Cross for Frontline Fighters, named to Malermeister Josef Knittel of Heimertingen, issued 15 March 1935 in Memmingen, measuring 210 mm (w) x 149 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
