Spain, Spanish State. A Medal of the Russian Campaign

(Medalla de la Campaña de Rusia). Instituted 9 November 1943. (1943-1944 issue). Constructed of bronze, the obverse featuring a National Eagle of the Spanish Army with a Falange insignia, overlaid by an Iron Cross in black enamels displaying a silvered swastika, surrounded by a laurel wreath topped by a royal crown, the reverse featuring a depiction of the Novgorod Kremlin surrounded by a chain wreath, with a bottom inscription of “RUSIA 1941”, unmarked, measuring 36.95 mm (w) x 51.52 mm (h), weighing 14.9 grams (inclusive of ribbon), in near extremely fine condition.
