Germany, Weimar Republic. A Golden Wedding Anniversary Commemorative Medal

(Goldene Hochzeits-Erinnerungsmünze). Instituted 1918. (1921-1935 issue). Constructed of gilded iron, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse with rightward-facing profiles of King Ludwig III and Queen Therese, above an inscription of “WEIHNACHTEN 1918” (“CHRISTMAS 1918”), the reverse with an inscription of “ZUR ERINNERUNG AN DIE GOLDENE HOCHZEIT 20. FEBR. 1918” (“IN COMMEMORATION OF THE GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY 20. FEBR. 1918”), measuring 38 mm in diameter, in near extremely fine condition.
